Washington, DC–ASPA and the Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA) during a recent gathering in Seoul have agreed to increase academic, professional and personnel exchanges. This can include jointly sponsored workshops, colloquia or conferences.
KIPA President Park Eung-kyuk and ASPA President Tom Liou in their discussions agreed to develop specific areas of research cooperation as well as research fellow exchanges, publications and exchange of information. Park proposed a 2013 conference between the two groups that would focus on ‘The Role of Public Administration During Rapid Korean Development.’
KIPA is a state-run think tank which has been the core organization to promote public administration research and to advance the theory and practice of public administration.
Also attending the conference were Antoinette Samuel, ASPA executive director, and National Council members Susan Gooden and J. Paul Blake.
