Founders’ Forum Fellowship Program Needs Your Help

Jose Luis Irizarry, ASPA Student Representative

As the National Student Representative for the American Society for Public Administration, I am very interested in increasing student participation in ASPA. I have been working hard with ASPA’s National Council, various Strategic Imperative Groups, and Staff to create opportunities for more student involvement and to help ASPA better meet the needs of their students members whom I represent.

The Founders Forum Fellows Program is extremely dear to my heart. As you should know, participating in professional conferences provides a number of great experiences, helps students expand their knowledge of the field, and among other things, opens the doors for future opportunities. Some students, like myself, may not be able to financially afford such opportunities and programs such as the Founders Forum Fellows make it possible.

I must reach out to you to ask for your support to keep this program alive. This year, ASPA has not yet raised the resources necessary to ensure the survival of this program and we need your help. Sponsorship is still needed to ensure a successful program this year. Specifically ASPA needs sponsorship in two areas:

STUDENT AND NEW PROFESSIONAL RECEPTION – $ 6,000

  • Acknowledgement on sign prominently displaying sponsor logo
  • Recognition in PA TIMES
  • ¼ page black and white ad in conference Program Book*
  • Verbal recognition at event
  • Opportunity to submit one item/flyer (that you supply) into the conference tote bags
  • One-time post conference mailing list of conference attendees (postal addresses)

FOUNDERS’ FORUM FELLOW – $350 EACH

  • Recognition in the conference Program Book*
  • Recognition on sign prominently displaying all sponsors
  • Recognition in PA TIMES

*Sponsor three (3) Founders’ Forum Fellows for $1000 and in addition to the above benefits you will also receive a 1/8 page black and white ad in the conference Program Book.

In order for this program to succeed and continue, your support is greatly needed. Your support is greatly appreciated by ASPA but most importantly by our students, who benefit from this experience. Our students are the most important feature in ASPA since they are the ones who will lead us into the future and ASPA has dedicated itself to investing more in this future.

In fact, ASPA has been so devoted to this group that they voted to have a Student Representative serve on their National Council and the first election for the Student Representative position took place weeks ago. Since this position was established, we have noticed an increase in student participation so our student members are eager to join in on the work that we do and now is the time to show them how to get involved.

Your assistance will make that possible.

For more information about sponsoring our Founders Forum Fellows, the Student and New Professional Reception, or the Annual Conference in general, please visit the ASPA 2011 Conference website under, “Sponsors“. Or contact Jeannie Jefferies, ASPA member services associate at [email protected] or 202-585-4310.

Once again thank you so much for your support.
