connect people and share ideas, which is knowledge management in a
nutshell, agency chief knowledge officers and experts say.

CIOs Face Challenges as Data Needs Surge

A study by EMC and IDC found that the amount of digital
data increased 62% in 2009 and there will be 44 times more by 2020,
which will strain server capacity, security efforts and the IT work
force. The study “exposes many of the most pressing short- and
longer-term strategic issues CIOs grapple with as they map out their IT
strategies and investments,” EMC CEO Joe Tucci said, adding that “to
remain in the game, they need to do things differently.”
