Call for Articles – International Supplement & Issue
The Jan/Feb/March print edition of PA TIMES will discuss intergovernmental relations: Rationalizing the Federal System in the US and Abroad. PA TIMES is accepting articles until Jan. 27 about how national governments and their components relate in a federal system. Articles can discuss the varying elements of the intergovernmental relationship.
- What are the challenges of the intergovernmental system?
- Should we rethink the relationship between states and the federal government? What would it look like?
- How has your city redesigned its relationship with the federal government?
- Have you gained a waiver for a federal program? Or been innovative about the intergovernmental relationship?
Share with PA TIMES readers about research or experiences with intergovernmental relations.
In addition to the main issue, a supplement will accompany the Jan/Feb/March issue of PA TIMES. The supplement will explore the global aspect of intergovernmental relations with the theme – Federalism or Decentralization: Building Global Cities.
- Across the globe, how do other components relate to a national government?
- As the European Union struggles to retain its structure and reach, what does its relationship with its members tell administrators about intergovernmental relations?
- What about town-gown relations? This concept is gaining ground. What is its impact?
- What models are available for regional cooperation – federalism or decentralization?

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Articles must be in a word document and submitted by email to [email protected].
- Articles must be between 1000-1,300 words.
- Footnotes or endnotes are not published. All citations should be included inside the article.
