The opening speaker is Grand Rapids  Mayor George Heartwell. Our honorary conference co-chair is Kurt Kimball, former city manager of the city of Grand Rapids.

Attendees can hear from experts in many areas of public service. The six concurrent panels will focus on Placemaking and the Arts: New and Best Practices; Education: Strategies for Developing Talent; Sustainability and Resiliency for Michigan Communities and Economic Development in Uncertain Times; Governing in Today’s Times: Understanding the Communities We Serve; and Talent and Retention: Competing in a Global Economy.
