Bergrud Jumps from Stratosphere Tower to Raise Money for Scholarship

Washington, DC–Then-ASPA President Erik Bergrud promised to soar 855 feet from the top of the Las Vegas Stratosphere Tower during the 2012 Annual Conference in response to a challenge to create a new ASPA endowed graduate student scholarship fund. More than $1,400 was pledged prior to the conference, and members pledged additional funds during the conference.

See a video of Bergrud’s jump on YouTube.

ASPA aired the video during a conference keynote session on Monday, March 5, the day after Bergrud successfully made the jump. He told attendees of the session, “If you can muster the courage to take the first step, you can accomplish anything!”

The ASPA Endowment is still accepting contributions for this fund. For more information on the fund contact Duanne Crawley at [email protected]. To make a contribution, mail your check payable to ASPA Endowment, Inc., Attn. Duanne Crawley, c/o ASPA, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20004.

Erik: Sorry to have missed it (was on a red-eye that evening), but the video is enough to convince me you really want us to contribute… Well done!
