The National Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA) will hold its annual conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from Feb. 18-20, 2015 at the Sheraton University City Hotel. The “City of Brotherly Love” provides the perfect backdrop for this event with the theme of “Sustainable Blueprints: Public Engagement in Building Marginalized Communities.”
The increasing gap between the rich and the poor remains a critical issue for major U.S. cities, including Philadelphia which has some of the highest poverty and crime rates in America. Creating public centric opportunities and engaging citizens in public administration offers pathways to building sustainable communities through dialogue, planning, policy design, implementation and evaluation. As we prepare our future policy builders and public servants, COMPA’s conference seeks to provide another brick in the framework of sustainability.

Established in 1971, COMPA is a section of the American Society for Public Administration that serves to promote the recruitment of minority administrators, eliminate social barriers to employment and provide a forum to promote and refine the skills of minority public administrators.
