2016 Founders’ Fellows Program Now Accepting Applications

By PA TIMES online
September 18, 2015

The ASPA Founders’ Fellows program recognizes outstanding students and new professionals (within three years of their graduation) in the field of public service and public administration.

Following a competitive review process, Founders’ Fellows present their scholarship during the ASPA Annual Conference, receive substantial professional development and networking opportunities, are paired with a seasoned scholar or practitioner who serves as their mentor for their Fellowship year, and take part in other Fellowship activities.

If selected, 2016 Founders’ Fellows will receive:

  • A complimentary Annual Conference registration.
  • Tickets to special conference events.
  • Complementary lodging in the conference hotel.

Note: Travel to Seattle, other meals and incidentals will not be paid by ASPA.

Submission Information and Guidelines

To submit an application, you will need to complete the online application. The application will require you to provide:

  • Your resume or curriculum vitae.
  • A personal statement explaining why you should be considered for a fellowship.
  • An essay on the topic of “New Traditions in Public Administration: Reflecting on Challenges, Harnessing Opportunities.”

The essay guidelines are detailed in the application. You will also be required to provide the name and contact information for the ASPA member who will be recommending you for a Founders’ Fellowship.

The application and recommendation forms must be completed by October 15, 2015. Applications without a recommendation will not be considered.
