The National Certified Public Manager® Consortium (Consortium) held their annual meeting in Phoenix, Oct. 29-30, 2015. The membership took significant actions, including approving continued accreditation of six certified public manager (CPM) programs and granting associate member status to two new programs.
The Consortium establishes and preserves standards for the certified public manager® designation. The Consortium promotes CPM programs by providing and monitoring accreditation standards, facilitating program development, encouraging innovation and developing linkages with programs and organizations with similar concerns.
The Consortium accredits one agency per state or territory to administer the delivery of the training. Accredited programs have been reviewed and approved to provide the program for five years. The following programs received continued accreditation at the annual meeting:
During the meeting, associate status was granted to two new CPM programs. Associate status is the first step to full accreditation. Associate members receive a mentor to assist them with planning a program. The next step is active status, which allows them to begin to implement the program. The two programs are:
