City of Brotherly Love Welcomes 2015 COMPA Conference

COMPA 2The National Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA) will hold its annual conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from Feb. 18-20, 2015 at the Sheraton University City Hotel. The “City of Brotherly Love” provides the perfect backdrop for this event with the theme of “Sustainable Blueprints: Public Engagement in Building Marginalized Communities.”

The increasing gap between the rich and the poor remains a critical issue for major U.S. cities, including Philadelphia which has some of the highest poverty and crime rates in America. Creating public centric opportunities and engaging citizens in public administration offers pathways to building sustainable communities through dialogue, planning, policy design, implementation and evaluation. As we prepare our future policy builders and public servants, COMPA’s conference seeks to provide another brick in the framework of sustainability.

Attendees can look forward to exciting panels, workshops and talks on such topics as:

  • Professional Development.
  • Continuing Education.

I believe the COMPA panels and information seminars they will provide will be something that everyone can benefit from.

It allows for a forum where practical experience and advice can be shared to help eliminate the problem of acquiring skills to get better jobs for the minority and low income community.

It will also pinpoint how accountability in the program using management information systems (computerization) can help increase performance and show results.
