“Sammies” Honor Public Service Heroes

In a time where the public’s confidence in the federal workforce has eroded, one special program is eager to help honor their service and reassure employees how essential they are to our nation. Dubbed the Oscars of government service, the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals (also called the Sammies) is currently seeking nominations of federal employees who have dedicated service and significant contributions to our country.

Presented annually by the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization Partnership for Public Service, the “Sammiescelebrate excellence in our federal civil service. These awards provide inspiring testimony to the important and effective work of our government. Each honoree is an example of the positive contributions that federal employees make every day.
